Days Like This

Song playing - Van Morrison's "Days Like This". You've got to listen to it while reading my post to get the emotion just right.

Rest of the house, still and sleeping. Sitting down now with a long, precious exhale. Now would be the perfect time for some Pinot Noir, Irony Wine's style.

Things on my mind:

Them. My sweet, hilarious Keira and Miana. Newly declared the "Crazy Krenzs".

Her. My insane best friend. She drives me completely crazy, she typically doesn't make any sense, but she is who she is. I'm quite sad that she's moving to Germany, but I can't wait to hear all of her new and exciting stories about it. If you want to hear them too, make sure you follow her blog: http://pursuitoflyndsy.blogspot.com.

Today we went through all of her stuff. It made it feel a little too real that she's leaving, but like I said, what an adventure for her!

I'm left thinking about my own story. What kind of story am I living right now? What kind of adventures are Chris and I experiencing? To be honest, it doesn't feel like we are having too many adventures. We're not flying off to some other country, or even traveling anywhere within our own vicinity really. If you count trying to pay the bills as an exciting adventure, then I suppose we've got quite the adventure in front of us! And I'm not meaning to complain. I love that man, I love our beautiful life together. But things have been so low, I long to take a deep breath. I look forward to this season ending and the next season beginning. What that season will look like, I have no clue. That's sort of an adventure, right? Experiencing each different season of life. Each season has its own purpose of course, and I'm sure someday I will look back on this time with gratitude for the pruning that's happening. But for now I'm okay with sitting in divine doubt, prayerfully seeking wisdom, discernment, grace, patience, love.

Well I must remember, there'll be days like this.

Ash
